Professor Panaïté became head of the department on January 1, 2020. The chair provides academic guidance, communicates with the dean’s office, and makes important departmental faculty appointments such as the directors of graduate study and the directors of undergraduate study. The chair’s role is to conceive and encourage scholarly and pedagogical projects that make the department a leader in the university and in the department's three academic disciplines, as well as to ensure its effective administration.
