Scholarships for undergraduate study abroad

Our department offers several scholarships for French and Italian study abroad programs. You can find additional scholarships through the Office of Overseas Studies and the College of Arts and Sciences.

Scholarships for French

Mayrene Bentley Scholarship

This merit-based scholarship supports overseas study in France and other francophone countries.

Roland A. Cote Scholarship

This merit- and need-based scholarship is awarded to a student who has been accepted to the Indiana University-administered academic year program in Aix-en-Provence.

Joel C. Walz Scholarship

This merit-based scholarship is awarded to a student who has been accepted to an IU-approved, credit-bearing study abroad program to learn French (beyond the 4th semester) taking place in France or in Quebec. Preference given to to students pursuing a B.S. in French Education.

Alice and Roy E. Leake Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a former participant in Indiana University’s High School Honors Program in Foreign Languages who has been accepted to the Overseas Study Aix-en-Provence Academic Year Program.

Marjorie and Francis Gravit Overseas Study Scholarship

This merit-based scholarship supports overseas study in France and other francophone countries.

Scholarships for Italian

Carol Ann Brush Hofstadter Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship supports excellent Indiana University students who have been accepted into the Bologna overseas study program for a semester or full academic year.
