Letter from the Chair
2023-24 was a new busy year in the life of the Department of French and Italian. With the pandemic now in the rear-view window, our community came together with a renewed vibrancy, at once for intense scholarly pursuits and for joyful celebration of our successes. On the faculty side, we welcomed three new colleagues, Director of Language Instruction in French Erin Candeias, Italian Medievalist Filippo Petricca, and Visiting Lecturer in Italian Natalia Pineda. This was also a year when many important scholarly projects came to fruition.
