- Course Description
Prerequisite: FRIT-M 305, FRIT-M 306, FRIT-M 307, FRIT-M 308, FRIT-M 322, or FRIT-M 390, or consent of instructor
This upper-level course will explore the distinctive qualities of Italian comedy. While the focus will be on Renaissance and early modern materials, we will study Italian comedy across genres (prose, poetry, theater, cinema) and centuries (from the Middle Ages to the present). The course aims to enhance linguistic proficiency while also fostering a deep understanding of the cultural and historical contexts that have shaped the diverse manifestations of Italian comedy over time.
