Dario Chimenti (he/him/his) was born and raised in Rome, Italy, and has dedicated his academic career to exploring the intricate relationship between politics, cinema, and literature. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, where he focused on Fascist fictional propaganda cinema, he later expanded his research to include political films and radical cinema of the late 1960s during his Master’s in Media and Journalism. In the US he obtained a Master of Arts in Italian Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where he served as Teaching Fellow. His research interests include cinema as a tool of propaganda and rhetoric in the 20th century; auteur films of the 1960s and 1970s; depictions of the working class during Italy's economic boom; cinematic portrayals of immigration and gender; and avant-garde Italian literature. He is currently working on animation as a critical discourse on Italian society and economic structure. In his free time, Dario Chimenti is actively involved in promoting cultural initiatives within the Italian community.
