Claire Fouchereaux is Ph.D. Candidate in French/Francophone Studies at Indiana University -- Bloomington. With research interests in media studies, post-colonial studies, and popular culture, she has published articles on the representation of France by mainstream rappers in Québec (Études Canadiennes 93) and on the critical perspective of pioneer of African cinemas Paulin S. Vieyra (Black Camera 13.2). In 2023, she received a prestigious Graduate Student Scholarship from the International Council for Canadian Studies/Conseil international d'études canadiennes in relation to her doctoral dissertation on rap in Québec, its relationship to cultural institutions, and the discursive construction of communities during the 2000s and 2010s.
