Scott has a B.A. in French and Chemistry (University of Nebraska - Lincoln, 2013) and an M.A. in French linguistics (Indiana University, 2017). He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in French linguistics with a minor in linguistics. His interests include historical linguistics, syntax, and information structure. In addition to French, he is also interested in minority languages of France such as Picard and Old Occitan. His dissertation focuses on the syntax and information structure of postverbal nominal subjects in Middle French and their evolution into Modern French.
