Lucia has a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Cultures (University of Pavia, 2013), an M.A. in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics (University of Pavia, 2016), and an MA in Italian Studies (Indiana University, 2021). She also studied at the University of Malaga, Spain through the Erasmus program (2011). She worked as a research analyst for the University of Pavia, as marketing assistant and teacher of Italian at La Dante in Cambridge, and as social media manager for various Italian firms. At Indiana University, she is a member of the Computer-Mediated Discourse Lab directed by Prof. Susan Herring, and the mediated Public Engagement with Technology and Science (mPETS) research group directed by Prof. Noriko Hara. Her research interests include computer-mediated communication, sociolinguistics, media literacy, climate change communication, and memes.
