Course Description

P: FRIT-F 250 or FRIT-F 265; or appropriate placement test score.

This course builds students’ understanding of advanced aspects of French grammar and their facility in applying them to written and oral expression. It is designed to build upon the intermediate student’s existing knowledge of French grammar and develop a more sophisticated mastery of advanced structures. F313 can serve either as a complementary grammar course to be taken simultaneously with F300 or as a springboard course preparing the student for F300 and beyond (including possible study abroad). We will sometimes supplement the textbook, Contrastes (Rochat, 2nd edition), with authentic materials from French and Francophone publications and blogs. Grades will be based on participation, daily MyFrenchLab homework, quizzes and exams, short writing assignments, an oral presentation.
