About Annie Bergeron

My research focuses on the development of second language pronunciation in relation to social and psychological variables. More specifically, I examine the links between non-native speakers' ethnic affiliation, language attitudes and perception/production of (Québec) French speech features. I would like to help understand better how non-native speakers develop language attitudes in and/or outside the language classroom context, as well as a feeling of belonging to the majority culture, and see their impact on the acquisition of (Québec) French pronunciation.
