Giacomo grew up in a small town outside of Milan, Italy and lived there until 2014 when he came to the US, at first only to better his English. He moved to Chicago, fell in love with the city and decided to start his university carrier there. There, he received an AA from the City Colleges of Chicago, and then went on to earn a BA from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. During his time at both institutions he had the opportunity to tutor students in different subjects, including Italian. After graduating in 2019, Giacomo spent a year working at Dominican University's Language Learning Center while teaching Italian to adults at Casa Italia, a cultural center just outside Chicago. He has a passion for teaching, which is what he hopes to do after graduating from IU.
