Evie is a PhD candidate in French and Francophone Studies in the department of French and Italian at Indiana University Bloomington. Her research focuses on young women’s intersectionality and performativity in contemporary Frenchcinema (2000-2020), and more specifically, in banlieuecinema. Eager to participate in the ongoing conversation on the intersections of race, class and gender in the French context and to address the treatment of identity politics in French cinema, her research is positioned at the crossroads of gender studies, French media studies, and post-colonial studies.
