Evie Munier is a Ph.D. candidate in French and Francophone Studies at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She holds a Master Mondes Anglophones from the Université de Lorraine (Nancy, France), a Master of Arts in French and Francophone Studies, and is currently working on her doctoral dissertation. Her research focuses on the intersectional and performative qualities of female bodies in contemporary French cinema (2000-2020), and most specifically, in contemporary banlieue cinema. Her pluri-disciplinal approach draws from gender studies, post-colonial studies, film and media studies, and cultural studies to inform her work on representations of gender, class, and race in French cinema. Her research aims to contribute to the ongoing scholarly and cultural dialogue on intersectional identities and identity politics in France.
